The Town of Schererville Board of Safety seeks to hire suitable State of Indiana certified Police applicants to immediately serve as Police Officers for the Town of Schererville, subject to all applicable state statutes and guidelines required by the Indiana Public Employment Retirement Fund for Police Officers (INPRS).

The Schererville Police Department will be accepting applications for Police Officer beginning Friday November 17th, 2023 at 9:00 AM. The application must be submitted by Monday December 18th, 2023 at 4:00 PM.

Applicants must be 17 years of age or older, not currently in high school, unemployed or underemployed, and are able to provide a Social Security Card and valid State ID or Driver's License.

Hospice Volunteers - Providing Care for Others



At ProMedica Heartland Hospice, we believe health care is a calling that requires special people. And we are here to provide you with the highest level of care and service. Our mission is to improve your health and well-being.

 

We are looking for new volunteers to join our hospice team! Our volunteers play a vital role, filling needs that range from companionship, compassion, and spiritual help. Others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting. Our volunteers help enrich the lives of our patients by:

Administrative/Special Projects

∙           Making and donating blankets, holidays cards, etc.

Companion/Friendly Visits

∙           Playing soothing music to patients

∙           Staying with patients so family members can get a much-needed rest

∙           Providing friendly visits to lift a patient’s spirits

Bereavement Counseling

∙           Providing support for the bereaved caregiver

Vigil Visits

∙           Provide support during the last hours of living patients and family
