Sometimes the world feels like everything is turning upside down. Sometimes it's just a season, and we grow, and the season passes, and we move on. But other times, the season doesn't just pass and we need to learn how to live with new normal that in our hearts we know is not normal. In these past few years there has been an unprecedented uptick in mental health issues that before now had gone undiagnosed and remained a hidden secret that was taboo to even talk about.

National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) is shining a light on these issues and seeks to "raise awareness about the earliest warning signs of serious mental illness in children and young adults."  NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to  building better lives  for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI Lake County is an affiliate of NAMI Indiana. NAMI Lake County and dedicated volunteer members  and leaders work tirelessly to raise awareness and provide essential education and advocacy and support group programs for people in our community living with mental illness and their loved ones.
